ESCAPAHOLICS Vietnam

Street markets, jungle and caves

I’m an Escapaholic

Hi I am Jacob

Its been 284 days since my last adventure. A new set of walking trainers, a pair of finest anti-leech socks and strapping on a good sense of humour together with other escapaholics. Sneaking through the Vin Moch tunnels; cycling through jungles visiting ancient ruins and then our highlight of sub-terranean and jungle expedition…and not just caves – I mean caves you can fly a plane in, or drink rice moonshine, whilst bedding down for the night, underground. It was like the lost world emerging from the jungle into gargantuan sink holes draped in lush rainforest, inaccessible to the outside world. Liking it. Loving it. Loved it. Where next? My name is Jacob and I’m an escapaholic

Escapaholics Vietnam.

Heading to vibrant Vietnam…..From a crazy, zippy moped tour through the lanes of Ho Chi Min City sampling the delights of Vietnam’s urban street food; to pedalling through the forests and ancient citadels in and around Hue and the Perfume River. Culminating in a tropical and subterranean expedition through the caves and jungles of central Vietnam. Leeches, anyone? These aren’t just caves – this is a whole ‘Jules Verne’ underground world with rivers, lakes stalactites like skyscrapers and chambers you could fly a plane in. All topped off with Escapaholic ‘challenges,’ surprises and adventure along the way.

🕓  Itinerary 14th to 24th January 2026

Adventurers arrive at Ho Chi Min Airport and escorted with your fellow escapaholics by your hosts, to your hotel, in the heart of downtown, District 1.
We will spend the day and evening relaxing, informal site-seeing, and taking in this vibrant city, with welcome drinks and dinner.

Ho Chi Min (still Saigon to many locals) is vibrant, fun and friendly. Enjoy markets, chaos (escapaholics love chaos) and learn about the history of the country, Saigon city and the Vietnam War (known as the American War in Vietnam.) Enjoy the sites, followed by an evening moped tour of the city, introducing our adventurers to the culinary delights of Vietnam Cuisine.

A morning flight to Hue – this ancient citadel nestled on the Perfume River. We will take in the mazing ruins of this historic capital, enjoy the sights along the river, bustling markets and delicious food.

We head out into the surrounding countryside, accompanied by a few pointless challenges, pedalling through the forests, visiting ancient citadels, along quiet lanes, returning to Hue for a ‘Sundowner.

Located in the beautiful limestone karst region of central Vietnam, surrounded by impenetrable jungle, we head in-land. With sightseeing on the way including the Viet-Cong tunnels used during the war, we arrive at the small town of Phong Nha, on the banks of Son River. Stunningly located, surrounded by rocky peaks we explore the local area before an adventure briefing, ready to head into the jungle.

Jungle Trek
The escapaholiocs trekking stage over 3 days and 2 nights takes adventurers through jungle paths, sink holes and an underground world of sunken rivers, stalactites and stalagmites, emerging occasionally into jungle valleys. Leeches, streams, spikey plants, steep patches and muddy trails…all the stuff us escapaholics love. An unbelievable and truly unforgettable experience, with the occasional ubiquitous escapaholics challenge; swimming climbing, crawling, abseiling, all washed down with some local rice wine.

Return to Ho Chi Min – relax by the pool, or tour the city and markets for some last minute shopping.

Celebrations, final dinner and awards ceremony.

Flights home at various times during the day, enjoying Hotel until departure.
